The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option for those looking for a mid-priced mop and robot vacuum. It has a great mopping capability, but it lacks some of the features that are found in its more expensive counterpart.
In the course of testing, it was able to handle dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard flooring. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It is a powerful cleaner and numerous features such as the self-emptying dirt container built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automated schedules to ensure you have a hands-free experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the touch of the button. You can choose a general clean that prioritizes cleaning up larger debris like cereal and rice or two thorough mappings of your home to ensure your entire home is properly arranged.
This vacuum works well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as some other models and can clean up pet hair without difficulty. It's a challenge with carpets that are high-pile or plush, but iRobot says that future models will be better.
The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that uses flat-fronted D-shaped designs. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a nice change from the standard hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we found it to be incrementally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with an advanced filtration system that blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice premise, however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price cost.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors that remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and also to clean your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundaries to ensure that the robot is aware of which areas need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vac settings are just as effective as those on more expensive models and its mopping feature is better still--its spinning pads do a much more impressive job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibration pad.
The only drawback is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush for deeper cleaning, but that's a small cost to pay for if you want one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also larger than many of its rivals, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the highest dirt level.
As for the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two mopping modes that it has, which are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones produce very little noise, which allows you to work or watch TV without distraction. If it comes across the wall or a furniture piece it gently bumps into it and moves along.
The Q Revo is unique in that it operates almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash to the hidden bin and washes and drys mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app is capable of notifying you when something requires attention, for example, the water tank being empty or a scheduled vacuuming session that was cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.
You can also combine or create actual rooms to personalize the way Q Revo treats your home. That's a handy feature for those who have multiple areas of the home with different flooring materials or there's some items that need to be cleaned out frequently, such as toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac was also one of the top performers in my test and was able to remove debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first go. It can also clean up spills that are wet but check here I would suggest cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that has all the features you could need. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum with powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, plus a rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also comes with an auto-cleaning station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads to keep them fresh and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor that can detect obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling onto furniture and other objects.
The most notable improvement over the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its sleeker, more modern design. This is thanks to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. The robot is still quite large. It has a height of more than two feet the height and depth and weighs almost four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot J7.
This version is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it has faster battery charging and can handle a complete cleaning of approximately 1,500 square feet with just one charge. It also has a bigger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris, making it easier to empty when required.
Finally lastly, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and voice assistant that operates offline, allowing you to control it even when you're not home. It also has additional mopping modes as well as an intelligent routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean specific rooms or areas of your house instead of simply following a predetermined route.
The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested, because of its mop pads that rotate to scrub away tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also top-notch, and it boosts suction when it senses carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It has a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to one week. The mopping mode of the robot is also powerful.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality robot vacuum and mop that comes with a range of features that you don't often see on robots in this price range. It has the ability to create precise floor maps, recognize different flooring types, and it's one of the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These features are nice, but they also place the L10s in the class of luxury. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners want.
Designed to look like a contemporary floor cleaner The L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device that has an elegant white finish enhanced by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper, which helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage when moving through the home. Behind the pane at the front is additional navigation technology with sensors that help the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, there's one button that is a switch for on and off. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, and pressing it again will shut off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The center of the control panel includes the circular menu which lets you choose cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open up the settings menu of the app where you can alter how the L10s Ultra works with your home.
Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to map out your home. This allows the robot to mop and vacuum efficiently without getting stuck. The LIDAR also assists the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4% debris from our test on hard floors, and removing all but stubborn juice staining. The mops also work well in removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as great at tackling sand on the floor or quaker oats on the carpet.
